The Red Book of the Elf King is a set of Fantasy Miniatures Battle Rules written by legendary designer Rick Priestley.
You will need set of miniatures including a Thane and six companion bands of 3 models each and The Red Book of The Elf King Rules.
A suitable playing surface including terrain, ideally about 4’by 4’ although a smaller area will do.
A ruler or tape measure marked in inches to determine ranges and movement distances.
Dice. You will need at least three ordinary D6s each of a different colour. You will also require a number of D10s, about a half dozen will suffice, ideally including a few of different colours.
Action Counters. Each circle will require a set of distinctly coloured action counters. Action counters for the Red Book of the Elf King game come in a variety of colours with designs representing the great circles of the Fae Kingdoms.
Penalty Counters. You will also require a set of distinctive penalty counters, which are used to ‘block’ actions during play.
Wound Markers. You will need a few dozen wound markers to indicate wounds suffered by your warriors.
The Publishers would also recommend that each player acquires a Red Book of the Elf King Glamour card deck. This isn’t strictly needed as all the glamours are included in this book, but if you have a card deck you’ll be able to play some of the optional versions of the rules.
